This policy explains what personal data VI&CO collects when you visit this site or buy the Playbook, and what choices you have.
Who we are
This website is operated by VI&CO ('we', 'us') to sell The Short-Let Playbook and related digital products. Our full legal seller identity — company name, number, address and VAT number — is published on our Terms & Conditions page. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
When you check out we collect your name and email. Payment details go directly into Stripe's payment form and never reach our servers — we only receive your order value, currency and payment confirmation. If you accept our cookie banner, we also collect analytics data via Meta, TikTok and Google Analytics. We store the advert parameters that brought you here (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, fbclid, ttclid, gclid) in session storage, cleared on tab close.
Server-side advertising measurement
At checkout, Meta and TikTok get your hashed email, IP address and browser/device details; Google gets only a non-reversible identifier derived from your email, never your IP or browser details. At order completion, Meta and TikTok get your hashed email again plus their own ad-click identifier from their ads (no IP or browser details this time); Google again gets only its identifier. All three get your order value and currency at both stages, regardless of your cookie-banner choice — the banner controls browser tracking scripts only, not this server-to-server measurement.
Why we process your data
We process your details to fulfil our contract with you and to meet legal obligations like tax records. Fraud prevention, checkout security, and the measurement above rely on our legitimate interests. Browser pixels run only with your consent. Unfinished checkouts may get up to three reminder emails — at 1, 24 and 72 hours — under the UK PECR 'soft opt-in' rule; opt out at checkout or via any reminder's unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We use Stripe (payments), Resend (confirmation, delivery and reminder emails), Vercel (hosting, and via Vercel Blob, secure download delivery), Neon (our database), and Meta, TikTok and Google (advertising measurement, above). Each gets only what it needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
Download links stay active for 30 days and allow a limited number of downloads. We don't yet run an automated deletion schedule: order records are kept for accounting and tax purposes, and a fixed retention period is still to be set by the business owner. Your cookie choice lives in local storage for 6 months; the advert parameters above clear on tab close.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your data, and object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Withdraw cookie consent using the control below. [OWNER TO CONFIRM: our ICO data-protection registration number, if required.] You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookie settings
You can withdraw or change your cookie choice at any time. This clears your stored decision, so the cookie banner appears again the next time you load a page.
